Hands on fun is always best in kindergarten! We have been studying colours - specifically the three primary colours (red, blue and yellow) and the secondary colours created by mixing them (purple, green and orange). We've got a lot of learning ahead of us, but here's a look at a couple of things we've done so far. Click on the pictures to enlarge them and read the captions.

Congratulations to our Website Scavenger Hunt winners! Emma and Hanson each won a gift card to Toys 'R' Us and Kylie won a new book! We had thirteen people complete the hunt and hand in the form, which is a little discouraging considering there are 79 kids in the program (and also considering that the entries included two sibling pairs). I really appreciate the parents who regularly visit the site. I think it's a great resource! If such a thing had existed when my own kids were in kindergarten, I would have been contacting relatives near and far to say "Hey! My kid's on a website! You have to take a look!" Obviously if you're reading this right now you are a parent who visits! Thank-you! Thank-you! Thank-you! Thanks also to ALL of our entries! Here we go - heading into the final part of the school year. March Break is only two days behind us but we've had lots of excitement already. We've welcomed a new friend, Noah, into our classroom and our SK friends visited the Children's Safety Village. Visit the picture gallery of the site to view pictures from the trip!
As we head into the March Break we'd like to wish everyone a safe and fun holiday. We sure do hope that when we return the weather will have warmed up! Please be sure to spend some time reading with your child, and I always advise parents to keep their kids on a schedule. A week might not seem that long, but it can be very difficult for children to readjust to school when they return if they don't stay on track with bedtimes and mealtimes. I LOVE the last part of the year in Kindergarten because the strides the kids make are always truly remarkable and it's very exciting to see the learning and maturation that occurs! I can't wait!
